Adopt A Class Heroes Day
On Friday, May 3rd, Adopt A Class had the chance to host nearly 500 Cincinnati Public Schools 7th grade students for our inaugural Heroes Dayat Lunken Airport!
Presented by National Marketshare Group, Heroes Day introduced our enthusiastic 7th graders to the diverse and exciting careers options available within the military and first responder pathways.
During the day, our students engaged with a wide variety of first responders and military branches. This included:
Our students had the unique opportunity to explore aircraft and vehicles such as: a U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopter and Avenger Weapon system, a U.S. Civil Airpatrol Cessna 172 plane, a Cincinnati Fire Department firetruck, a Cincinnati Police Department SWAT truck, and much more. The 7th graders truly experienced what their futures may look like if they chose these career pathways.
Thank you National Marketshare, Cincinnati Police Department, Western & Southern Financial Group, Home City Ice, UC Digital Futures, Cincinnati State, Cintas, Gateway College, KeyBank, Cincinnati Fire Foundation, and Republic Services for sponsoring our event. Without you, we would not have been able to bring this remarkable experience to so many of our students.
The event would not have been possible without the support of the City of Cincinnati, which provided us with the location of Lunken Airport for the day’s activities. Also, thank you Lunken Airport for the use of your tremendous space! We look forward to hosting this event again next year and introducing more students to military and first responder careers.
