Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office Presents Donation to Adopt A Class at Academy of World Languages
In 2022, the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office partnered with local nonprofit Adopt A Class for their first group mentor relationship at Academy of World Languages. Academy of World Languages (AWL) is a PreK-8 magnet school providing a diverse cultural climate and world-language learning opportunities including Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian and English as a Second Language (ESL). The staff and students represent over 35 nationalities and languages.
The mission of Adopt A Class is to connect businesses and civic groups with students in economically challenged schools. By pairing teams with individual classrooms, mentors expose the students to a breadth of experiences and training to be job and career ready. The Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office has been very supportive in helping Adopt A Class grow their presence of law and legal services in the mentorship program. In addition to their generous donation provided by their asset forfeiture funds, teammates from the Prosecutor’s Office mentor over 50 first grade students at AWL and hope to continue this rewarding relationship for many school years in the future.
