Where We Are Today

Sparking change, one experience at a time

Founded in 2003, Adopt A Class (AAC) is a non-profit organization with a vision of a Greater Cincinnati where all students have access to caring adults who expose them to a breadth of life and career experiences so they can unleash their full potential.

Adopt A Class’s mission connects businesses and civic groups with students in our underserved communities.

  • By pairing teams with individual classrooms, our adult mentors expose the students to a breadth of experiences and training to be job and career ready.
  • For the organization, this engagement fosters a culture of teamwork and increased knowledge

Adopt A Class mentors engage with their adopted classes through monthly visits, educational activities, and field trips, empowering them to unleash their full potential. Currently, more than 160 business and community groups are serving over 6,750 students in Greater Cincinnati.

Serving our community

Adopt A Class serves students in Kindergarten through 8th grade in 36 schools across Greater Cincinnati. Schools participating in the AAC program have higher levels of poverty where majority of students participate in free lunch programs—where our help is needed most.

On average, 97% of the students we serve are eligible for free or reduced meals. Adopt A Class currently serves students Cincinnati Public Schools, Catholic Inner-City Schools, Boone County Schools, Princeton City Schools, Norwood City Schools, Newport Independent Schools, Covington Independent Schools, and Middletown City Schools. Learn more about the schools that we serve.

Adopt A Class strives to empower everyone to be their true self.

Commitment to racial equity

Adopt A Class stands in solidarity with Black people and all people of color because our vision is a Greater Cincinnati where all students can unleash their full potential.
